It’s Monday. It’s raining. We’re coming off of a 78 degree spring weekend. And it’s now 55. What a tease! This is spring in the Midwest, folks. Captivating your heart then ripping it out and stomping on it the very next day. My mood is entirely reflective of this today, and not-so-strangely so is my lettering. Day 15: harsh angles, thin strokes, edgy, somewhat apathetic and in your face. If I were to give this “font” a name, it would certainly be: Mondays.
I mean, just look at last Monday (Day 8). It was 70 and sun. Curvy and cutesy, I loudly penned my undying, bubbly, love for my forever #mcm, my husband, cupid’s arrows and all.
I adore contrast; I love seeing these side by side. I’ve always fallen hard for hand-written fonts, consistently inconsistent, complete with squiggles and shakes; they are full of personality. Today I realized just how personal they are.
I kind of love Monday. I kind of love lettering.
